Curriculum Aims
The aims of this curriculum are to provide students with learning experiences related to physics, develop students' scientific literacy, so that students can actively engage in the rapidly changing knowledge-based society; equip them for further learning or career preparation in fields related to physics, and become lifelong learners of science and technology. It is hoped that through the curriculum, students can:
- Develop an interest in the physical world and maintain curiosity and inquisitiveness about the physical world;
- Construct and apply physics knowledge, and appreciate the relationships between physics science and other disciplines;
- Understand and appreciate the nature of science through contexts related to physics;
- Master the skills of scientific inquiry;
- Cultivate scientific, critical and creative thinking abilities, as well as the ability to solve physics-related problems independently or collaboratively with others;
- Understand scientific language related to physics issues and communicate viewpoints with others;
- Make wise judgments and decisions on issues related to physics;
- Be concerned about the impacts of physics on society, morality, economy, environment and technology, and develop responsible citizenship.
