Curriculum
1. Objectives and purposes
-Improve students' life quality and cultivation, as well as develop spiritually;
-recognize and understand music and art, develop critical thinking and communication skills, nurture aesthetic sensitivity and cultural awareness, and understand the relationship between religion and music;
-gain delight, enjoyment and satisfaction through participating in arts activities;
-develop creativity and collaboration skills through music creation and
-develop spirit of teamwork through chorus and ensemble training.
2. Course outline
-S1: chorus singing, rhythm training, cantonese-opera composition and basic music theory;
-S2: chorus singing, cantonese-opera ensembles and composition;
-S3: Music structure analysis, composition and ensembles with chord accompaniment, cantonese-opera accompaniment;
-S4: Composition of lyrics with original melody, analysis of social functions of music.Music appreciation and performance from different periods such as musicals, operas, and pop music;
-S5: local and foreign pop and jazz music, and analysis of pop music development;
-Provide extended learning and advanced training.
