Objectives

   

  1. To give students a basic understanding of computer systems and operations, and enable them to enjoyably use computers for various activities.

  2. To help students learn about information technology, modern information processing methods, applications and their impacts, and communicate and exchange information and knowledge with others through computers.

  3. To cultivate students' skills in problem-solving and programming.

  4. To teach students biblical truths and guide them to understand through learning this subject that God is the source of all truth, wisdom and knowledge. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and to know the Holy One is to be discerning. Therefore, in today's age of information explosion, it is important to learn to properly utilize modern information technology in order to bless humanity.

 

Course Content

We hope that through this course, students can gain the most basic understanding of computer systems and operations, and be able to enjoyably use computers for various activities. The course aims to help students learn about information technology, and study modern information processing methods, applications, and their impacts. It also enables students to communicate and exchange information and knowledge with others through computers

 

S1

Revisiting and advancing the application of spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Chinese input methods (fast track), to support the skills needed for holistic learning, as well as teaching App Inventor and artificial intelligence courses.

S2

Learning image processing, STEM KIT smart home devices, Dreamweaver web page creation skills, and teaching basic hardware and software.

S3

Teaching computer networking creation, internet technologies and network security, database software and its applications. In addition, students will also learn Python programming courses.

S3 Technology and Creative Media Studies 

Teaching drone programming, 360 video aerial filming courses, 360 video production and VR virtual reality.

S4

Teaching the core units A, B and C of the DSE (Diploma of Secondary Education) course, covering information processing, computer system fundamentals, and internet and its applications.

S5

Teaching core unit 3 on programming and teaching all content of the elective units (multimedia and web page production), students have to complete a project work according to the requirements of the Examination and Assessment Authority.

S6

Teaching core unit 3 on the social impacts of computers and discussion of some social issues, and teaching all content of the elective units (multimedia and web page production). Students are required to complete one project work and several classroom exercises according to the Examination and Assessment Authority's requirements.
